SMS Terms
These SMS Messaging Terms ("SMS Terms") describe the text messaging program operated by Suno, Inc. ("Suno," "we," "us," or "our") on behalf of audiology practices and other healthcare providers that use Suno's practice management software ("Clinics") to communicate with their patients ("you" or "patients"). By providing your mobile number and consenting to receive text messages from a Clinic, you agree to these SMS Terms.
These SMS Terms supplement, and in the event of a conflict with respect to mobile information, supersede, the Suno Privacy Policy.
1. Program Description
The Suno SMS program sends transactional and operational text messages from Clinics to their patients, including:
- Appointment scheduling, confirmations, reminders, and rescheduling
- Billing notifications and payment reminders
- Clinical care notifications (e.g., hearing aid order updates, follow-up instructions, recall reminders)
- General practice communications (e.g., office closures, intake forms, paperwork requests)
The Suno SMS program is not used to send marketing or promotional messages.
2. How You Opt In
Patients opt in to receive SMS in one of the following ways:
- Online consent form. A patient may complete Suno's online "Consent to Receive Text Messages" form. The form requires the patient to provide a mobile number, check a box affirmatively consenting to receive text messages as described in Section 1, and submit the form; the form cannot be submitted without SMS consent.
- Written consent at the Clinic. When a patient schedules an appointment or visits the Clinic, the front-desk staff provides a patient intake packet that includes a written Patient Communication Consent form. By providing a mobile number and signing the form, the patient consents to receive SMS messages as described in Section 1.
- Verbal consent over the phone. When a patient calls the Clinic to schedule, staff may obtain verbal consent by disclosing the program details described in these SMS Terms. Verbal consent is logged in the patient's record with a timestamp.
Only patients who have provided consent through one of the methods above will receive SMS messages. Consent is not a condition of receiving care or services from the Clinic.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on a patient's care plan and appointment cadence, and is typically between 1 and 5 messages per week per patient.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Patients are responsible for any charges from their mobile carrier related to messages sent or received under this program.
5. Opt Out (STOP)
You can opt out of the SMS program at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. After you reply STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation message, and you will not receive further SMS messages from the Clinic through the Suno SMS program. You may also revoke consent by contacting the Clinic directly.
To resume messages after opting out, reply START or UNSTOP, or provide consent again through the Clinic.
6. Help (HELP)
For help, reply HELP to any message, or contact support@suno.tech.
7. Mobile Information Sharing
Suno and the Clinics do not share mobile information, including mobile phone numbers and SMS consent records, with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used solely to operate the SMS program described in these SMS Terms.
Suno may share mobile information with service providers and subprocessors (such as Twilio, our messaging infrastructure provider) strictly as needed to deliver messages on behalf of the Clinic, and with the Clinic itself as the entity responsible for the patient relationship. Suno may also disclose mobile information where required by law, subpoena, or legal process.
8. Supported Carriers
The Suno SMS program is supported by major U.S. wireless carriers, including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
9. Privacy
Mobile information collected under this program is treated as patient information and is protected in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA") and other Applicable Data Protection Laws. For information about how Suno processes personal information generally, see the Suno Privacy Policy. For information about how a Clinic processes your patient information, contact the Clinic directly.
10. Changes to These SMS Terms
We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where required by applicable law, notify you of the changes.
